Phlebotomy Training: Age Doesn’t Matter

Sunday, February 19th, 2012

After being a phlebotomist for nearly 20 years I was ready for a change. In addition to always wanting to help others I had wanted to be a teacher. Once I finished my phlebotomy training I got right to work and I never looked back. Hence become a teacher became a dream of the past. Now that retirement was rapidly approaching I decided to revisit this idea again. I contacted the nearest school that offered phlebotomy training and asked if they were in need of an instructor. I explained my credentials and although they didn’t need anyone at the time they said they would get back to me. That was 3 years ago so when they finally called I was a bit taken aback. I was eager to start and their terms were fair so I started immediately. Finally I would have a chance to share my love and knowledge of phlebotomy with others.

Regular screening helps doctors to identify the stage of cancer, and start treatment as soon as possible. The cancer found during regular screenings is likely to be small and might not have evaded other parts of body.

Mammograms can detect cancer which cannot be felt. Ultrasound technician help to view areas that need to be closely looked at, and identify if the mass found is tumor or cysts filled with fluid.

School Grants: Sending Kids to School with Free Financial Resources

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

Sending kids to school requires a lot of financial resource but with School Grants many kids take advantage of free education. Educational grants can be found through different schools and universities. The public and private sectors award educational grants to schools so they can help many kids enjoy free education. Educational grants may be given to kids whose families suffer financial difficulties. Many families fall below the state’s median income and with job instability families continue to suffer financially making it difficult to attend to the educational needs of their kids. However, with educational grants, there is no reason for kids to skip school.

Nevertheless, some grants may also be available to kids who have excellent scholastic records. While these grants are not necessarily for the less fortunate, merit-based grants are still a welcome financial aid for kids and their families. Education may be affordable for some families but this would mean they would have to sacrifice in their basic needs to afford it. And with free financial resources through school grants many families live more comfortable lives with lesser sacrifices.
