First CA to Enable Administrators to Manage Azure Application Keys and Public SSL Keys from Single Platform; Automates Certificate Renewal in Azure Key Vault

Our Azure Key Vault integration is one-stop for issuing and managing public and private digital certificates for these applications, all within the Sectigo Certificate Manager platform.”

— Lindsay Kent, VP of Product Management, Sectigo

ROSELAND, NEW JERSEY, UNITED STATES, January 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Sectigo, the world’s largest commercial Certificate Authority (CA) and a leading provider of automated PKI management solutions, has consolidated key storage and management for applications in Azure by integrating Microsoft Azure Key Vault with Sectigo Certificate Manager. The integration offers enterprises the industry’s first one-stop issuance and management of keys from both publicly trusted and private CAs—and now key management for Microsoft Azure Key Vault—using a single platform.

Public IaaS and PaaS markets, led by Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, doubled in size during the past two years and are forecast to double again by the end of 2023. Microsoft Azure, the fastest-growing platform in the public cloud services market (Synergy Research), is a set of cloud services that provide organizations with the freedom to build, manage, and deploy applications on a massive, global network, using their preferred tools and frameworks. A critical part of the service, Azure Key Vault safeguards cryptographic keys and other sensitive information, such as passwords, where thekeys are stored in software or hardware security modules (HSMs) for the applications running in Azure Cloud

“As more enterprises use the Azure platform, they need a solution to automate the management of the publicly and privately trusted certificates required to provide authentication, encryption, and digital signature capability to applications,” explained Lindsay Kent, VP of Product Management, Sectigo.
“Microsoft does not issue publicly trusted certificates, such as those used on public-facing web servers, code signing, and document signing, nor does it issue and renew private CA certificates, leaving security administrators with a multi-step process to manage these important digital identities.”

“Sectigo is the first commercial CA to provide key Management to Azure applications for all flavors of public and private certificates. Our Azure Key Vault integration is one-stop in that our customers can now issue and manage public and private digital certificates for these applications, all within the Sectigo Certificate Manager platform,” added Mr. Kent.

Automation and Integration Consolidate Four Steps into One

Before Sectigo’s Azure Key Vault integration, customers using Microsoft Azure would undertake several manual processes to provision certificates for applications deployed within the Azure environment. This process would then be repeated on the renewal of the certificates.
• Generate keys and go through multiple steps to generate the certificate signing request (CSR)
• Submit the CSR to the certificate authority
• Obtain a certificate via email, or download from certificate authority web portal
• Import the certificate to the Azure Key Vault

With the new Azure Key Vault integration, security administrators can use automation in Sectigo Certificate Manager to provision and manage cryptographic keys automatically and transparently in a fraction of the time required using manual processes. Sectigo Certificate Manager enables an enterprise to install/renew a key with the click of a single button, without modification to any apps used in Microsoft Azure, triggering Certificate Manager to create the CSR, issue the certificate, and store keys in Azure Key Vault to be used by applications deployed in Azure Cloud.

The Azure Key Vault integration for Sectigo Certificate Manager is available today. Enterprises may contact sales@sectigo.com for more information. Sectigo will also be releasing integration with Azure Key Vault HSM for issuing document signing and Extended Validation (EV) code signing certificates.

About Sectigo

Sectigo provides award-winning purpose-built and automated PKI management solutions to secure websites, connected devices, applications, and digital identities. As the largest commercial Certificate Authority, trusted by enterprises globally for more than 20 years, and more than 100 million SSL certificates issued in over 200 countries, Sectigo has the proven performance and experience to meet the growing needs of securing today’s digital landscape. Sahara Group backs gender equality at OECD summit in Paris

Secretary General, OECD, Angel Gurria receiving the “Sahara GreenLife” jute bag from Director, Governance and Sustainability, Sahara Group, Pearl Uzokwe at the OECD Conference in Paris, France

Ensuring equal access to opportunities regardless of gender, is essential for promoting sustainable development, Sahara Group's Pearl Uzokwe has said.

Sahara Group is passionate about the issue of gender equality and we continue to promote and invest in projects that empower men and women to pursue economic prosperity.”

— Pearl Uzokwe, Director, Governance and Sustainability, Sahara Group

PARIS, FRANCE, January 30, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Ensuring equal access to resources and opportunities regardless of gender, is essential for promoting sustainable development across the globe, Pearl Uzokwe, Director, Governance and Sustainability, Sahara Group has said.

Uzokwe who spoke in Paris at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Private Finance for Sustainable Development Conference said galvanizing private finance alongside other sources of finance for gender equality was not only urgent but critical for sustained wealth creation, especially in developing countries.

Uzokwe said Sahara Group had consistently led the cause of equal access and opportunities in the private sector through support for gender related projects and policies that supports employment and growth within the organization which is free of any gender-based considerations. “Sahara Group is passionate about the issue of gender equality and we continue to promote and invest in projects that empower men and women to pursue economic prosperity. We are also entrenching gender diversity at the board level of the organization in line with global trends in corporate governance,” she said.

Noting the need for women empowerment as a precursor to achieving gender equality, Uzokwe said governments and businesses need to be “more deliberate and committed” in their support for activities that will connect girls and women to transformative economic opportunities. She said strengthening the private sector and ensuring well-defined and unbiased entry pathways are available at all levels.

“Sahara Group aligns with the position that empowering women and eliminating the hurdles to success for women in both the formal and informal sectors has the potential to set the tone for attaining several sustainable development goals, with special emphasis on goal 5 that speaks to gender equality,” she affirmed.

The OECD conference noted that a collaborative approach involving the government, business, civil society and development agencies will be required to achieve the task as raising private finance towards promoting gender equality.

Participants called for an enabling environment for the private sector to thrive and support female entrants, adding that diversity remained the most potent driver of innovation that is required to make businesses thrive and prosper. They also noted that since women provide 50 percent of that innovation ratio, ignoring their unique needs and offerings would be a cost too high for any organisation and country.

Acquisition Opportunity – 50mw Woody Biomass Power Plant

Woody Biomass Plant – Lufkin, TX

50mw Biomass Plant

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, USA, January 30, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — A recently built 50MW woody biomass plant, is now available to be acquired free and clear at a steep discount to new construction. The plant is located in Lufkin, Texas.

The plant was originally constructed and commissioned as a merchant facility in August 2011, and most recently was in operation through March 2015 by a world-renowned operator. Due to unfavorable economics within the ERCOT energy grid, the plant was professionally idled and continues to be preserved in a dry lay-up state. The plant is quite new, having generated the equivalent production of only approximately 4.5 months of run time at 85% capacity. Around the clock supervision and security have been onsite throughout to ensure proper maintenance and preservation procedures are performed.

Construction of a new biomass plant is costly, often pricing woody biomass out of competition when compared to other feedstocks. Acquiring this plant at such an attractive price creates new market opportunity that would not exist otherwise, such as disassembling and relocating the plant to a different location.

Key statistics of the plant:
• 50MW net capacity
• General Electric turbine/generator
• Vibrating grate technology
• Detroit Rotostoker/FSE Boiler
• Built in 2011, last operated in March 2015
• Approximately 135,000 MWh production history
• Comprehensive data available for due diligence efforts

Rope Partner secures new investors to meet the rising demand for high-quality turbine services worldwide

The industry has evolved significantly over the last several years. As the wind farms mature along with the market, customers are placing additional focus on the condition of their blades.”

— Eric Standfield, CEO, Rope Partner

SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, January 30, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Rope Partner, Inc., an international leader in wind turbine blade repair, maintenance and performance-enhancing services, has been acquired by funds advised by Magnesium Capital LLP (Magnesium).

In the last decade, the global wind market has rapidly expanded, with the majority of operating capacity installed since 2009. Providing the required operations and maintenance (O&M) services for these existing turbines as they enter the second half of their design life creates an evolving need for high-quality wind technicians to efficiently and safely service this sector.

With the global wind industry forecast to more than double by 2027 (adding 65 GW annually), the global O&M market is projected to be a $21 billion market by 2025. The offshore market alone is expected to grow by 17 percent annually, to more than $12 billion by 2028. This investment will support Rope Partner’s continued work to provide the expanding market with the high-quality services critical to supporting and accelerating the transition to a clean energy economy. This includes strategic growth plans in North America and abroad, with Europe and Latin America already identified as key growth markets.

Eric Stanfield, Rope Partner CEO, commented: “Since our beginnings in 2001, we have become the leader in the space and have a global reputation, with our services relied on by many of the world’s largest wind energy owners and manufacturers. This next phase of growth is a very exciting time for us. We see many opportunities in the North American market, both onshore and offshore, and also in Europe and Latin America, where our customers already have wind turbines operating.”

Rope Partner, headquartered in Santa Cruz, California, is recognized internationally as the premier at height service provider of repair, maintenance and performance-enhancing services for wind turbine blades. With over 100 highly qualified technicians, the company counts among its clients over 40 blue chip wind energy asset owners and OEMs in North America and abroad, and over two decades has developed an unparalleled quality and safety record. In the last 18 years, the company’s technicians have completed several thousand projects for every major manufacturer and a majority of the wind farm owners in North America.

“The industry has evolved significantly over the last several years. As the wind farms mature along with the market, customers are placing additional focus on the condition of their blades,” Stanfield said. “As such, it is important for us to keep innovating to safely deliver value to our customers. In Magnesium, we have found a partner with a deep understanding of our core market, an established network in Europe, and the financial backing to respond to our customers’ requests. With this infusion of capital, we can develop new services and expand internationally, including through potential acquisitions to consolidate what today remains a fragmented sector.”

Magnesium’s managing partner Ian Jones, who joins the board of Rope Partner, said: “Eric and his team have developed a great company over the years with a strong culture of safety, quality and environmental sustainability that is committed to maximizing uptime and ROI for its customers. The focus on optimizing wind turbine performance will help accelerate the energy transition by supporting the decarbonization of the electricity system. We look forward to working with Eric and his team through its next phase of growth.”

Andrew Carnwath, Director of Private Equity at BMO Global Asset Management said “We are delighted to partner with Magnesium and Rope Partner to support the team’s continued growth plans. The company has established an unrivalled reputation within the industry, and it is now well placed to benefit from growth in the wind sector and increasing focus on blade maintenance. We are therefore confident that our investment will provide our investors with a market leading return and have a wider positive impact through growth in sustainable and affordable renewable energy and high skilled job creation.”

Equity finance was provided by funds managed by BMO Global Asset Management and advised by Magnesium, with the management retaining a significant ownership position in the company. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
