DAVOS, SWITZERLAND, February 4, 2019 / — Leading energy conglomerate, Sahara Group is set to explore opportunities with Cherie Blair in a bid to enhance sustainable development in Africa through access to technology, education and food security.

These apps are also being used to deliver primary health care options and information to mothers, making people healthier and more productive.”

MESA, ARIZONA, UNITED STATES, February 4, 2019 / — Emerging graphite refining specialist Urbix Resources announces that it has sold its commercial graphite powder milling assets in Mexico to industry leading graphite processor Asbury Carbons. In addition, Asbury Carbons and Urbix have signed a letter of intent which outlines the interests of both companies in pursuing joint venture and other collaborative opportunities surrounding purified flake graphite, energy storage graphite grades, graphene and graphene-like additives.

As of January 15th, Asbury Carbons has acquired 100 percent ownership in Urbix Resources’ natural graphite powder milling facility located outside of Hermosillo, Sonora MX. This milling facility currently produces fine microcrystalline graphite powders often used in steel, refractory, and coating applications.

In addition to the sale of this commercial operation, Asbury and Urbix have signed a Letter of Intent which states interest by both parties to pursue a joint venture or similar business relationships for the highly refined graphite product space. Some of these highly refined products include, but are not limited to, Purified Flake Graphite, Spherical Graphite, and Graphene.

Urbix, which will offer one of the lowest purification costs in the world for achieving lithium-ion battery grades, averaging less than $375/ per tonne to purify to 99.95%+ total graphitic content, is now breaking ground on its new 31,000 square foot production site in Mesa, Arizona. The facility will be capable of processing up to 36,000 metric tonnes annually of high-purity graphite, and will also be one of the largest facilities in the world capable of producing a variety of graphene additives. The Urbix process lacks the use of Hydrofluoric acid and immense energy consumption and is therefore one of the greenest methods available. A starting production quantity of up to 5,000 metric tonnes will be required by Asbury for a variety of markets. Both firms expect to ramp up significantly from that starting amount. The Urbix facility is being constructed with the help of globally recognized mining EPCM firm M3 Engineering & Technology Corporation, who have also validated the expected refining costs at this new commercial facility in Mesa, Arizona.

Urbix expects its new facility to be complete and operational by the end of 2019 at which time it will start providing toll processing services for many producers of graphite around the world.

Author Vance Thomas to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

POMONA, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, February 4, 2019 / — Driving down the street, you don’t think of all the essential work electrical linemen do every single day. They fade into the background in their buckets, but they’re people too. They deserve to be as safe as possible. They deserve to retire enjoy the rest of their lives.

So why aren’t they using the safest equipment possible?

That’s what Vance Thomas wants to know.

In 2009, Thomas, a semi-retired journeyman electrical lineman, started experiencing intermittent blackouts. Thomas would be misdiagnosed with epilepsy and prescribed every epilepsy medication there was. Of course, none worked. That’s when he started to do some research on his own. What he discovered shocked him.

According to Thomas, linemen are only taught about ohms, volts and amps. But there is another form of energy linemen are exposed to: gauss.

Gauss, or magnetic induction, is a measurement of the electron field. If you're in a linemen’s bucket, your body absorbs those electrons. But your body can only stand so much.

When we are outside in the sunlight, we are exposed to 2 to 4 Milligauss of magnetic induction, radiation from the Sun; when we are in a MRI Tube we are actually exposed to 15,000 to 30,000 gauss, for a period of less than five minutes.

When linemen are in High Voltage Rubber Gloving they are exposed to 100 to 10,000 Gauss for hours, depending on Voltage and Amperage. Linemen are not advised of this overexposure or cautioned of its possible negative impact on them. When overexposure occurs the cells use a gene map prematurely; the cell may have enough of a gene map left to reproduce a cell that is deformed, which is cancer.

“We need a government agency to educate people and regulate exposure to this regulation. This is a very serious problem and needs attention.”

“I had to learn this all on my own,” says Thomas. “We’re never taught anything about gauss so we've never established an exposure limit. I was being consistently exposed to milligauss. Eventually it adds up. I read about 7,000 pages and realized I didn’t have epilepsy. I had radiation poisoning.”

Until 1998, journeymen linemen in California used fiberglass sticks. The power company’s protocol changed and said if the union didn’t switch from fiberglass sticks to rubber gloves, they would be out of jurisdiction and could no longer work in California anymore. For Thomas, the seventh journeyman lineman in his family, who had worked from Sacramento to the Rio Grande, this was not an option.

“When you are exposed to more energy than normal, you are putting yourself at risk for cancer and shortening your life,” says Thomas. “If you meet a lineman who is 75 years old, that’s an old lineman. We should be living longer than that. We should be able to enjoy our retirement. Let’s make sure we’re using the safest equipment for this dangerous work.”

Thankfully, Thomas’ cause is a simple one with a simple solution.

“I'd like us to stop gloving and go back to sticks. I know it's all about money, but I just want to make it safer for all of us.”

The county seat of Warren County, Warren is the principal city of the Warren, Pennsylvania Micropolitan Statistical Area. The site which is of interest to Autumn Ridge Energy, and based upon which Stone's investment deal has been secured, was first drilled for oil over 150 years ago. Total oil content available at the site today is understood to range from between 6,000 and 13,500 barrels per acre.

The economy of the city of Warren was at one time dominated by oil, with many of the area's large Victorian homes built using revenue generated by the local oil industry. According to Jeffery Steven Stone, however, in recent years, Warren has struggled economically, enduring a steady decline in population.

7.8 Million UK Households Setting Their Heating Too High (Or Low), Study Finds

BIRMINGHAM, WEST MIDLANDS, UNITED KINGDOM, January 31, 2019 / — With freezing temperatures and snow sweeping across the United Kingdom, a new survey from central heating advice website Heating Force reveals that millions of UK households are setting their heating too high or low. And hundreds of thousands may even be risking their health.

Heating Force polled 1,256 UK householders in December 2018 to find out which temperature they set their central heating.

According to the study, 71.39% of householders set their thermostat within the recommended range of 18-21 degrees. But the study also reveals that 9.54% set their thermostat below the suggested range, while 19.08% set their heating to 22 degrees or above.

In raw numbers, this means that 7.8 million UK households could be setting their heating outwith the recommended range.

And according to Heating Force founder Grant Draper, almost 1 in 10 UK householders may be risking their health by setting their heating dangerously high or low, “There is evidence that a room temperature below 17 degrees can lead to respiratory problems. And on the flip side when the needle jumps above 24 degrees, there could be cardiovascular risks. Our study found that 1 in 10 householders are setting their heating dangerously high or low, and may be damaging their health.”

The Energy Saving Trust — a British organization devoted to promoting energy efficiency, energy conservation, and the sustainable use of energy — recommend homeowners set their thermostat to the lowest comfortable temperature, typically between 18 and 21 degrees. And according to the Trust, turning down the thermostat by just one degree could save the average 3 bedroom home £75 per year in heating costs.

Draper comments, “The 1.23% (or 335,000) of UK householders who set their central heating at a sweltering 27 degrees could save £450 per year by turning down to 21 degrees, and £675 by dropping the mercury down to 18. That’s a huge saving. Their bank balance, and their health, will thank them for it.”

Heating Force’s study, which also breaks down the average central heating temperature by region, found that homeowners in Northern Ireland set their central heating the highest at 21.27 degrees, while Welsh households preferred a cooler 19.61 degrees.

Based on the Energy Saving Trust’s estimates, this means that families in Northern Ireland could be paying £124.50 more in annual heating costs than their Welsh neighbours.

Finally, with snow forecast for much of the UK this week, and the cold snap expected to last into February, Draper cautions UK families to go easy on their boiler, “When the temperature drops it can be tempting to whack your heating all the way up. But all you’re doing is burning energy unnecessarily and wasting money. You can’t ‘trick’ your boiler, it’s either on or off. Setting your thermostat to a comfortable 19 or 20 degrees will keep you warm and save you cash.”

PHOENIX, ARIZONA, USA, January 29, 2019 / — There is no doubt that fuel cells will be the prime factor with our evolving into utilizing water as the main fuel for energy production of the future. It is well known that fuel cells use the chemical energy of hydrogen, work with higher efficiency than internal combustion engines, and can convert chemical energy into electrical energy with efficiency up to 60% and higher.

Currently, cost, performance, and durability remain key issues in the fuel cell industry, there are problems associated with overcoming critical technical barriers to efficient fuel cell development: 1. Cost – platinum group metals are used in fuel cell catalysts. 2. Performance – ion-exchange membranes are not effective enough for viable long term stationary and portable power source systems. 3. Durability – short life of the fuel cell system components.

It is these shortcomings with fuel cell design that impede their wider introduction into the country's energy sector, that the US Department of Energy has focused attention, and has requested leading US universities and laboratories to address these issues. We have been working with fuel cells since 2009 and, in our opinion, quite successfully solved a number of technical and technological problems associated with fuel cells.

It is known that in existing fuel cells, the oxygen used in the process is atmospheric air. At the moment, when thermal elements are not yet very common, this is acceptable. However, with massive industrial use of thermal elements, this can lead to an ecological disaster. Even today, the eco-system of the planet is experiencing difficulties due to the enormous consumption of atmospheric oxygen. It is no secret that, without exception, all energy generation devices using a combustion or explosion process (Carnot Cycle, Diesel, Thermal Power Plant, etc.) burn atmospheric oxygen.

The new generation design for fuel cells of the “Delta-FC5” series uses oxygen contained in water. We will first borrow water from the world's oceans, utilize its energy potential, and then the output water from the fuel cell will be returned to the source. It should be noted that the same volume of water, taking into account minor compensation of losses, can be used in these new generation fuel cells many times.

Thus, with a full transition to water-based fuel as the main source of energy on Earth, we eliminate the threat of environmental catastrophe associated with both the loss of atmospheric oxygen and the over expenditure of ocean water. The advantage of using oxygen extracted from water in fuel cells is clearly revealed when comparing the content per unit volume of oxygen in the atmosphere to that of water in the world's oceans. The proportion of oxygen (by mass) in water is 88.81%, while the proportion of oxygen in the air is only 20.93%.

Structurally, the “Delta-FC5” fuel cell is a kind of dual multi-electrode electron lamp divided by an impenetrable Teflon partition. Where a gas mixture containing 97% of hydrogen is supplied to the left compartment of the device, and a gas mixture containing 88% oxygen is fed to the right compartment.

For a more accurate description of the process of converting the chemical energy of hydrogen to electrical energy, we note that in a “Delta-FC5” fuel cell anions and cations are fed to the anode and cathode, not to hydrogen and oxygen. The ionization energy of the atoms of hydrogen and oxygen is about the same, in the range of 13.6 -14 Ev. Thus, in the fuel cell “Delta-FC5” eliminates the need for catalysts made from expensive and limited platinum group metals (PGM) Instead of short-lived, contaminated ion-conducting membranes such as the proton exchange membrane with a polymer electrolyte used in existing fuel cells, the “Delta-FC5” utilizes reliable and almost “eternal” control grids, separating the flows of positively and negatively charged ions.

With the new concept “Delta-FC5” fuel cells there are no design limitations on the power output or intended use. They can work perfectly both in stationary and portable conditions, providing heat and electricity for the city, industrial enterprises, and transport (road, rail, water, and air).

Therefore, the new “Delta-FC5” fuel cell concept opens up vast possibilities to the ubiquitous use of hydrogen as a versatile fuel supporting all types of energy necessary for our human needs moving forward.

The portfolio is comprised of sites in Indianapolis, Indiana and Columbus, Ohio.
